My Private Classroom For Marketers

I made a movie (New Years wish) and posted on my website. Good quality viewing. Tried to put on YouTube (first experience on YouTube) and very poor quality resulted. I followed the technical guidelines available on the FAQ at YouTube as best I could, but the resulting picture initially had no sound (I fixed that) and the final result is jerky and blurry compared to the simple version on my website. If anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate the insight. This is not a question about WMP; this is for Mr Mac (LOL).

Background. The movie consists of slides created in Keynote with recorded music and slide changes. I exported the result as a Quicktime file. Looks fine so far when viewed as Quicktime. I posted two versions of the exports (different sizes) on my web site. Of course the smaller one loads faster, but the quality is nearly a match for the original on my computer.

Then I went and created a YouTube account, read instructions, and uploaded the file. Not only was the video result poor, it had no audio. After trying increasingly larger files with no better result, I took a diff approach. I took the Quyicktime version from Keynote and put it into iMovie, and then exported a second Quicktime file (from iMovie). This I then uploaded to YouTube. The sound was now present. The video quality = ugly. Due to what "appears" to be a slower framerate (??) I get a jerky result that makes transitions for text appearances ridiculous and the fade toi black transition between slides inconsistent and ugly.

If all YouTube videos looked like this I would shrug it off. But obviously, many look smooth and presentable. [The uploaded version at BetterNetworker is much better (if a bit blurry) than the uploaded version at YouTube.]

You can compare the four different qualities I posted here:

Any help?

Maybe try converting it to another format?

There are a ton of free video converters out there...

Just google and you'll find them

I often have issues with quicktime files and flip them into avi files.

Betcha someone more technical know how than me can tell you more..

Maybe Mike Garr...

Search for him in members.

He is a great guy!

Good luck...Have fun!!!
